Congress of Iyalojas and Babalojas in Oyo State has described the late Iyaloja of Ibarapa, late Chief Mrs. Justina Iyabode Ogundoyin as a worthy leader who was blessed with uncommon integrity.
Speaking shortly after an emergency meeting of the Congress held in Ibadan on Monday, the Babaloja-General of Oyo State, Alhaji Sunmaila Aderemi Jimoh said the meeting became imperative for members to mourn the death of the Iyaloja of Ibarapaland.
According to the statement issued after the meeting, the Congress described the death of Chief (Mrs.) Ogundoyin as shocking, sad and devastating. It added that the late Iyaloja of Ibarapaland was a great pillar of support to trader’s associations, noting that she was very dependable, trustworthy and reliable.
“The loss of an important pillar of our associations, the Iyaloja of Ibarapaland, Chief (Mrs) Justina Iyabode Ogundoyin is disturbing, sad and heartbreaking.
“Her death is really painful and hard to believe. She was a good leader and follower we lost as she was an inestimable jewelry. May the Lord repose her soul and grant her eternal rest.
“Until her death, Chief (Mrs.) Ogundoyin was the Iyaloja of Ibarapaland. On Thursday, October 22, 2020 the late Iyaloja of Ibarapaland was appointed as the acting Iyaloja-General of Oyo State few hours after the death of Alhaja Wuraola Asake Kola-Daisi, Iyaloja-General of Oyo State.
“She acted in that capacity for 8 months and relinquished the power without any stress to a substantive Iyaloja-General of Oyo State, appointed by the Congress.
“She was a leader with outstanding integrity,” the statement said.
“We sympathize with the children, Adesoji, Adebo (Oyo State Speaker), Adetoye and Aderemi, family and relatives left behind by the late Iyaloja and pray God to grant them fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss caused by her departure,” the Congress prayed.
Recall that late Justina Ogundoyin died on Sunday afternoon after a brief illness at the age of 63 years.
