Vice Chancellor Lauds BOVAS Group Over donation to LAUTECH.

Vice Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Professor Michael Olufisayo Ologunde has admonished well to do Nigerians to join hands with government towards providing facilities that are capable of contributing to development of educational institutions in the country.

He spoke at the weekend while receiving representatives of BOVAS Group, who were in LAUTECH to turn the sod of an international Centre being donated to the University by the leading indigenous independent petroleum marketing company.

While lauding owners of BOVAS, he admonished other public spirited individuals to assist the government in infrastructural development and technical support to buffer quality of education that is made available to students who will later provide the manpower for national development, adding that present reality had shown that the government alone could not provide all that will be needed in the various institutions of higher learning.

The Vice-Chancellor explained that when completed the donation from BOVAS Group would bring international community very close to LAUTECH as the building hopes to be an international centre which will house of the directorates of the university such as:
Centre for Emerging Technologies, Centre for Advancement and Endowment, Centre for Student Exchange, Centre for Gender Mainstreaming and Centre for International Collaborations.

In his own remarks at the ceremony, Head, Projects at BOVAS, Engr. Tolulope Ayandiran, commended LAUTECH as an institution for turning out graduates that are shinning stars in all works of human endeavors. Himself, an alumnus of the Institution said BOVAS will continue to be proud to identify with LAUTECH and other initiatives that are committed to the development of Nigeria and would be willing to do more.

Chairman, University Committee on Institutional Development and Endowment, Dr. Adetunbi Saheed Ige, who facilitated the project explained that the partnership between BOVAS and LAUTECH which commenced long ago culminated in the epoch making event. He hinted that further discussions on other areas of collaboration between the University and BOVAS group are still in progress.
