The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji has described Engr. Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe as a beloved son of Ibadan, saying his installation as Mogaji of Oguntegbe family has ended the controversy surrounding his indigineship.
Mogaji Joseph Tegbe, a renowned Engineer, KPMG Partner and philanthropist of note was a gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in the 2019 election in Oyo State.
Describing Tegbe’s installation as a welcome development in the city, Oba eulogies the new Chief as a great Ibadanman who has contributed significantly to the development of Ibadan and humanity in general.
Others installed are Chief Isiaka Ojebode as Mogaji of Ile-Iwo family in Oja-Oba; Chief Adekola Olotu as Mogaji of Adesun/Adabanija and Chief Lukman Adeleke as Mogaji of Odeku in Bode area of Ibadan.
Responding, Tegbe pledged more commitment to the development of Ibadanland as well as Oyo State in general.
Tegbe told newsmen on Tuesday in Ibadan that his installation was a call to do more for his community, Ibadan and Oyo State.
Tegbe described his installation as a re-validation of the obvious, pledging his commitment to the development of Ibadan land.
He described the controversy on his Ibadan indigineship status as the handiwork of mischief makers who are hellbent on scuttling his political ambition.
“My installation has re-validated the obvious. We are re-validating the obvious about the serious allegations that my indigenship of Ibadan is in doubt.
“I am very grateful to the Olubadan and the entire Olubadan in council for honouring me, and for installing me as Mogaji of Oguntegbe family in Labo Ibadan.
“This has further confirmed some of the things we have been doing in Ibadan. This is just the beginning of the good things to come to my family and Ibadan land,” he said.
Tegbe said that he had through his foundation, supported the people and developmental programmes in Ibadan land, promising not to relent on it.
He said that he has identified the needs of the people and would ensure they enjoyed his support in actualising the needs.
Tegbe also affirmed that his ambition to govern the state was still much intact, expressing readiness to serve humanity to the best of his ability.
