Elections: Akinremi, APC Rep-Elect Drums Support for Adelabu

Newly elected House of Representatives’ member for Ibadan North federal constituency in Oyo state, Prince Musiliudeen Olaide Akinremi, has said the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Adebayo Adelabu remains the best for the state after the tenure of incumbent Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

Akinremi therefore described those insinuating that the state would be under the control of certain godfathers if Chief Adelabu wins this Saturday, March 9, 2019 Governorship election, as retrogressive as well as prejudicial set of people, who are fond of misinforming to coerce the people, in order to satisfy their selfish political interests.

Akinremi, who is of the APC in Oyo state, made this known in a press release at his Prince Akinremi Foundation (PAF), situated at Yemetu area of Ibadan.

While advising the people of the state not to be misguided against voting for Bayo Adelabu, on Saturday, Akinremi explained that “it is obvious that some retrogressive and prejudicial have their political tutelage from those old politicians that were antagonists to the laudable political leaderships of renowned progressive leaders of blessed memories of the Southwest geopolitical zone.”

Akinremi told the people of the state to liken the activities of the present antagonists of the leadership of ruling APC across the Southwest as replicas of the pull-him-down syndrome, orchestrated against the leadership of the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) under the sage, the Chief Obafemi Awolowo, and that of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), under the Cicero of Esa-oke, the Chief Bola Ige, shortly after the 1979 and 1999 elections respectively.

He further pointed out to the people to take into deep consideration how everybody, including the present rumour-mongers are now referring to the quality leadership rendered across the Southwest by Awo and Ige.

While enjoining the people of the state to go out on Saturday and vote enmass for the APC across the state, Akinremi told the people to recall the maladies and mishaps that ensued in the Southwest after 1983 and 2003 respectively that the geopolitical zone was hijacked from the control of the progressives.

Akinremi further asserted that nobody can erase the history of how the political leadership of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC national leader, who is a former governor of Lagos State, has since 1999, transformed the state to a template of the way of how the country as a whole ought to be governed.

Akinremi explained that the same is evident in Oyo state from 2011, through the qualitative leadership of His Excellency, Governor Abiola Ajimobi, stating that unlike before, “every citizen of the state can now boast of adequate security of lives and property, modern road networks, foundation of agricultural revolution, introduction of the renovation of public secondary schools, along with other infrastructures.”

Akinremi further pointed out to the people to have the belief that the main reason the APC presented Bayo Adelabu as its governorship candidate was solely borne out of the party’s determination to sustain and improve upon the progressive development of the state for the benefit of all, describing him as a youth to be proud of for his impressive antecedents and profile that can be compared with that of men of letters the world over.

Akinremi hereby, called on his constituents across Ibadan North to see to it that the constituency records the highest number of votes in the state for Adelabu, as well as to ensure that the party wins both Ibadan North 1 and 2 constituencies come this Saturday, Governorship/State House of Assembly elections.

OYO 2019: I’VE DECIDED TO FORM AN ALLIANCE WITH BAYO ADELABU WHILE ADP STATE HOUSE ASSEMBLY CANDIDATES GO TO THE POLLS WITH MY FULL SUPPORTS

Following the outcome of the just concluded presidential and national assembly elections, I, Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala – the Oyo State 2019 Action Democratic Party (ADP), have decided to form an alliance with the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Adebayo Adekola Adelabu ahead of the March 9th Governorship and state House of assembly Elections in the state. However, all the ADP candidates for the House of Assembly seats will go to the elections with my maximum supports.

It is widely known that I initiated alliance talks with the main opposition parties in Oyo State vis-a-vis my great party – the Action Democratic Party ((ADP), the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP). My boss, the former governor of Oyo State and Osi Olubadan, Senator Rashid Adewolu Ladoja is a mediator. Meanwhile, during the alliance process, I received an emergency call from the Presidency. In the meeting with Presidency, I was prevailed upon to work for APC. My response was that I should be given 48hrs to consult with my people, the opposition parties alliance committee as well as the teeming members, the leaders and the stakeholders of my great party, ADP.

On resumption to the alliance meeting, my boss (High Chief Rashid Adewolu Ladoja) told me point blank in the presence of other governorship candidates that I was not in consideration for Governorship due to my place of birth – Ogbomoso. According to him, “we need an Ibadan man to slug it out with another Ibadan man, which is Bayo Adelabu”. With the statement, my geographical place of birth is the only crime I committed.

Since I’ve been unfairly and technically booted out of the alliance talks, I consulted with my party stakeholders and supporters whose supports have brought me this far. Having realised that my 2019 Governorship agenda cannot be realised in isolation based on the present situation, the only option remaining for me is to form an alliance with Mr. Bayo Adelabu of APC.

I remain in ADP and all our candidates for the House of Assembly seats will stand the March 9th Elections with all my support BUT I WILL WORK FOR THE VICTORY OF BAYO ADELABU of APC.

Bayo Adelabu is ready to work with ADP to adopt and implement the core values of our party and my manifesto. The Presidency approached me for an alliance based on our performance and grassroots network not only in Ogbomoso but also in Ibadan, Ibarapa, Oke-Ogun and Oyo.
“Our core values and philosophies as indicated in our ADP manifestos, ‘Rescue Mission Agenda, have been adopted by Bayo Adelabu with Presidency as witness.”

I have therefore as a candidate of ADP, accepted to support Adelabu of APC for victory and therefore form a coalition government. My solemn gratitude goes to our members, state and national leaders of ADP for the ample opportunity given to me to lead and fly the flag of the party. Though, my decision is a very tough one, it is for the progress of Oyo State.

Prince Musiliudeen Olaide Akinremi (Jagaban), the House of Representatives lawmaker-elect for Ibadan North federal constituency in Oyo state has described his victory as an act of God that ‘His covenant will not go unfulfilled’.
Akinremi Jagaban who recalled that the excruciating poverty and dearth of quality representation in the House of Representatives, made him to hearken the call to serve his people, especially the downtrodden masses of Ibadan North, thanked the state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, the party leaders in Ibadan North and indeed all the voters for supporting his aspiration.
The Liberian, American and Canadian-based millionaire businessman who was declared winner of the Saturday’s election in the area, thus emerged as the only candidate of the APC to win in Ibadan metropolis where the opposition Peoples Democratic Party tsunami consumed the aspiration of other party’s candidates.
Akinremi Jagaban was declared elected and returned by the Returning Officer, Prof. Mukaila Olujide.
Reacting to his electoral victory, Akinremi Jagaban appreciated the good people of Ibadan North Federal Constituency, marketers, students, transporters, landlords, private and public sector workers, and all the Baales, Mogajis, the Hausa communities and other tribes in the area for their unflinching support.
Akinremi promised to deliver on quality bills, motions and empowerment opportunities in the form of job opportunities for the school leavers, the youths and women folk including the downtrodden masses.
He said all his covenants for the people of Ibadan North as their representative to the National Assembly shall be fulfilled.
Akinremi Jagaban called for the cooperation, prayers and moral support of his people for him to deliver all the electioneering promises for the greater good of Ibadan North and Ibadanland in general.

The candidate for the House of Representatives in Ibadan North area of Oyo state, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Musiliu Olaide Akinremi on Thursday cleared air on the opposition’s persistent allegation that he had case with the Liberian government and Nigeria’s anti-corruption agency, EFCC.
Akinremi who featured on an interview programme on Fresh FM, Ibadan, mentioned the serving representative in his constituency, Abiodun Awoleye as the purveyor of the fake news, designed to run him down.
He described Awoleye as a drowning man, who has failed to appreciate God’s kindness in his political sojourn till date, querying the lawmaker’s penchant for persistent sponsorship of campaign of calumny against him.
Akinremi said the state governor, “Governor Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi publicly acknowledged what the Liberian president said about me as one of the foremost individuals in Liberia, controlling its economy and assisting the country and its people to grow. The Governor told APC supporters who came all over the state to our party’s campaign flag off in Oke Ado, that the President of Liberia recommended Akinremi to him for elective office, so as to help lift the less privileged people in Ibadan North constituency in particular and the state in general.
“I have been sending billions of naira to Nigeria from Liberia, US and Canada in the last few years and the EFCC had never for once query my source of wealth because I am not dealing in shady deals having grown from a tailor at Coca cola, Mokola Ibadan to a renown businessman, contractor and farmer in Canada,” Akinremi Jagaban added.
While stressing that he had no case with the EFCC, Akinremi Jagaban said the one being claimed to involve him in Liberia, actually involved a friend who used his company’s profile to secure a contract which eventually resorted in a litigation, “but the Liberian Ministry of Justice had since exonerated me from the deal and I make bold to say that their government is still owing me billions as we speak. So I have no case bordering on financial impropriety with any agency.”
On the names change, he said it was true that he changed his surname from Lateef, his biological father’s name to that of the grandfather and family’s name, Akinremi, wondering why Awoleye was engaging in frivolities, instead of telling the people what he wants to do differently, if given the chance to be in the House of Representatives for the third term in a row.
Akinremi Jagaban then tasked the electorate to ignore ‘Awoleye’s rantings’ and vote for him (Akinremi) as their Representative to the National Assembly in Abuja, for them to enjoy better democratic dividends.

With the fresh window of campaign opportunities opened by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for Presidential and National Assembly candidates, Prince Musiliudeen Olaide Akinremi (Jagaban) will tomorrow, Wednesday commence continuous free medical treatments for people of Ibadan North federal constituency.

The Oopoyeosa-born millionaire businessman, said the continuous health care mission which will outlive this year’s general elections, is in furtherance of his philanthropic mission to lift the people out of poverty, want and deprivation.

Akinremi Jagaban, who had trained and equipped about 5, 000 youth and women in vocational skills at his Prince Akinremi Foundation (PAF) centre, Yemetu, Ibadan, said “since health is wealth, it behoves on those blessed by God, to take care of the health care needs of others, for the society to be a better place for all to live”.

Akinremi Jagaban listed the areas where a UCH doctor and other health care givers, will be taking care of the needs of the people to include; hernia (IPA); Hydrocele (Omi Inu epon); Fibroids (Iju); lipoma (koko oyan Tabi ibikibi ni ara) like breast lump or lump anywhere in d body; Appendicitis; Typhoid and Malaria.

He said a medical consultant with medical centre ‘Skyline specialist Hospital’, located at No7, Adewakun street, off Abayomi bus stop, Iwo road , Ibadan, Oyo state, has been selected as the venue for the treatment.

It starts from 10am daily, Akinremi Jagaban added.

Abisoye says Alli, ZLP Senatorial, Reps, Assembly Candidates have no merger plans

The Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in Oyo state, Comrade Wole Abisoye on Sunday said all its candidates given flags at ancient Mapo hall, three weeks ago, by the National Chairman of the party, Dan Nwuanyawu remained the constitutionally recognised candidates of the party in the state.
Abisoye who read out a three-page list containing the names of the party’s candidates from Abuja, at a news conference, has therefore dispelled rumour of merger between ZLP and other opposition parties in the state.
Abisoye who came down hard on the Independent National Electoral Commission for its stoppage of the campaigns before Saturday’s election, said the statement was unconstitutional and should therefore be discarded.
Speaking with journalists at the Bodija, Ibadan residence of a former Governor of the state, Rashidi Ladoja, the ZLP chairman said, “neither the party, nor its leader, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, was in merger talks with any political party.”
While stressing that the party had done all that was necessary to claim victories in all elective offices in 2019, Abisoye said had the INEC not shifted last weekend polls, the ZLP would be in victory mood by now.
Reading candidates list from the ZLP, Abisoye said Alhaji Sharafadeen Alli remains its gubernatorial candidate while trio of Remi Olajide, Abiola Olaniyan, Ayoka Lawani are its Senatorial candidates for Oyo South, Central and North respectively.
He also stressed that a former aide of incumbent Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Mr. Rotimi Ajanaku remained its House of Representatives candidate for Ibadan Southwest and Northwest constituency, just as he warned a certain politician, Bolaji Gbadamosi, to desist from parading himself as the party’s flag bearer in the constituency.
Abisoye who quoted sections 99 and 99 (1) of the Electoral Act that public campaigns shall end 24 hours prior to the day of polling, said: “It is, therefore, wrong to expect that political parties will stop campaigns on February 14 for polls that will open on February 23. It is unlawful and statutorily wrong to curtail the clear intendment of this section of the Electoral Act which is clear and unambiguous.”
Abisoye said the move to allow parties resume campaigns becomes imperative because of the fake news, which if not immediately countered through newspaper adverts or radio jingles/announcement could affect the fortune of candidates and the political parties they represent.
He told INEC to reconsider its stand and allow campaign to start by Monday, in the interest of justice and fairplay.

International Observers Forced Election Postponement, Akinremi Jagaban Reasons

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress candidate for the Federal House of Representatives in Ibadan North, Oyo state, Prince Musiliu Olaide Akinremi on Saturday reasoned that the shift of the Presidential and National Assembly elections might have been caused by the European Union, America and other foreign observers’ insistence that the 2019 elections must be free, fair and credible.
Akinremi popularly called Jagaban, appealed to Nigerians especially the electorate to see the postponement as a blessing in disguise.
The Liberia, America and Canada based millionaire businessman said the postponement was better than holding an election that could be inconclusive in the end.
Akinremi who hosted supporters till wee hours of Friday, called on them to remain calm and use the opportunity of the postponement to pray for the success of the 2019 elections.
He tasked the electorate to have faith in INEC that people’s wish will prevail in the end.
Akinremi further called for the maintenance of calmness and dedication to national unity by all and sundry.

EFCC: ZLP Plans Road Show for Ladoja on Saturday

The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) Oyo state chapter on Friday said arrangements are in top gear to welcome its victorious National leader and former Governor of Oyo state, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, at the Ibadan, toll gate end of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Saturday.
The party’s spokesman, Olajide Olanipekun in a press statement on Friday night, said: “the ZLP Oyo state members and supporters across 351 wards, while congratulating ourselves for the acquittal of our great leader, High Chief Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja by the Federal High Court, Lagos will welcome him to Ibadanland with pomp and pageantry.”
Olanipekun, a lawyer, said reasons for the celebration was premised on the fact that the man, Ladoja, as a Governor of the state, laboured hard for all categories of workers and welfare of the citizens was paramount in his mind.
“It is on record that Ladoja introduced qualitative education at 30 pupils per class which also saw many teachers getting promotions to the position of principals and vice principals.
“He rescued Ibarapa area infested with guineaworm and was giving subventions to run state owned-tertiary institutions which made LAUTECH to become the best state university and fifth best in Nigeria when adjudged alongside all federal and state institutions. He encouraged mechanised farming on Oke Ogun and fashola farm in Oyo and fruits in Ogbomosoland received government’s attention.
“He was giving traders loans to run their businesses. The transportation sector witnessed a boom because of the vehicles he procured for their use, and many more people-friendly policies for the masses, including non indigenes and all  adherents of different religions.
“Till date, he is still living in Ondo street, Bodija Ibadan house which he built decades ago and had neither added a single block, nor built new house while serving or after leaving office as the state Governor.
“Ladoja is a contented man by all standard. He is nicknamed ‘Baba Alankara’ because of his love for simplicity and promotion of our traditional attires. He is loved by all and infrastructures he put in place are still enduring tests of time.
“His major regret lies in the fact that good governance he envisaged and was leading had since taken a flight after he left office in 2007. His only consolation lies in Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, the gubernatorial candidate of the ZLP who has been positioned to continue from where he stopped.
“The party is enjoining all lovers of democracy and rule of law to rejoice with us as we welcome Osi Olubadan to Ibadan on Saturday by 7am at the toll gate end of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway,” Olanipekun added.

Alli, Lanlehin, Makinde Laud Ladoja’s Victory in EFCC N4.7billion Fraud Case

Top politicians in Oyo state on Friday rejoiced with former Governor Rashidi Ladoja over his victory against the Economics and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in the N4.7billion fraud case allegedly perpetrated during his reign as the state’s helmsman.

Delivering judgement in the 11-year-old trial on Friday, Justice Mohammed Idris said the evidence brought to court against Ladoja and Waheed Akanbi, a former Oyo State Commissioner for Finance, was “too low on credible evidence.”

The judge said the EFCC failed to call relevant witnesses to prove it’s case against the former Governor.

To this end, a former Secretary to Oyo state Government, Sharafadeen Alli on Friday described the victory of former Governor and national leader of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) as a triumph of democracy and the rule of law.
Alli, the gubernatorial candidate of the ZLP, who was the SSG and later Chief of Staff during Ladoja administration, said in a statement by Gus media aide, Taiwo Ibrahim: “I have known my leader, Ladoja over the decades as one who always stand by the truth and would never do anything to soil his image.
“His victory is another testimony that the government he ran in Oyo state between 2003 and 2007, together with those of us, his lieutenants, was that of the people and for the people alone and this is the more reason he stands out as has been clamouring for good governance in the next dispensation,” Alli said.
He recalled that his records to put people, teachers, civil servants,traders, artisans in the the front burner of governance has not been rivalled since he left the saddle in 2007 and stressed that as a graduate from his school of political thoughts, he (Ladoja) has reposed that confidence in him to reshape the socio economic and socio political system of Oyo State.
Also, the gubernatorial candidates of the African Democratic Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party,
Senator Olufemi Lanlehin and Mr. Seyi Makinde respectively, congratulated Ladoja on his acquittal by the judge.
Lanlehin in a statement by his media aide, Damola Adeoye said, “Senator Ladoja’s integrity has been further advertised, and the orchestrators of the spurious litigation, ostensibly for political motives, put to perpetual shame.
“Senator Lanlehin, therefore, congratulates the Osi Olubadan on this victory over witch hunt, base politics and unfounded allegations, urging him to continue to dedicate his life to the advancement of humanity and promotion of welfarism.
Makinde said that he was relieved to learn that the litigation which lasted over 10 years was finally laid to rest in favour of senator Ladoja.
 
According to Makinde, “Ladoja’s comportment throughout the ordeal was a lesson in resilience which the younger ones must learn from.”
 
Makinde said that Senator Ladoja must now make himself father of all and stand by what will bring maximum progress to a people he once governed.

Prince Musiliu Olaide Akinremi, the House of Representatives candidate for Ibadan-North Federal constituency contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is an ex-convict, the businessman cum politician has said that the sponsor of the story will soon have her days in court.

Akinremi, a Canada, America and Liberia-based businessman described those opposed to his emergence as purveyors of the unfounded allegations against his personality.

He spoke to journalists on Thursday in Ibadan, moments after returning from Abuja, where the National Assembly candidates had gone to hold meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC leadership, ahead of the February 16 election.

Recalling that a colleague-business partner, used his company’s name to undertake a business with Liberian government and the development caused a stir, prompting setting up of a panel of enquiry over the supply of some items, Akinremi said the Liberian Ministry of Justice had since exonerated him of any wrong doing in the matter.

He said “just recently some politicians in the constituency, still approached Liberian justice ministry who reportedly told them that Prince Akinremi has been cleared of the allegations involving his company.”

He wondered why politicians in Nigeria are always engaging in do or die politics of pulling him down at all cost.

Akinremi Jagaban said he has for over a decade, been engaging in commercial farming in Canada; trading in automobile and hospital equipments in America and a has become a household name in construction and security uniform supplies in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Conakry in Guinea, wondering why political opportunists and jobbers are after him, whose foray into politics was to contribute his quota to the development of Nigerian nation.

Prince Akinremi Jagaban continued: “Today, without being immodest, God by His mercy has counted me worthy as one of the notable contributors to the Canadian, American and Liberian economies through a number of investments, and it is in the light of this that I have been ploughing back to my place of birth, Ibadan, by instituting Prince Akinremi Foundation; Yemetu vocational centre; bursary awards to scores of students in tertiary institutions, including regular empowerment for the youths and women, as a mark of appreciation to what God has blessed me with.

“Observers of these legendary legacies who are politically inclined, beckoned on me, to come home and contest for the House of Representatives election so as to use the government machinery to make better contributions to our people’s lives in order to lift them out of poverty circle.

“Had I know our politics is this dirty, I, Prince Musiliu Olaide Akinremi would have continued to watch by the sidelines but because evil triumphs when men of goodwill keep quiet, I know that evil doers shall not go unpunished,” Akinremi reasoned.

He said there was no going back on the task of rescuing hapless people of Ibadan North as he remains more committed to the election at hand, “and I, therefore, appeals to our supporters to remain calm and not allow bad people to bring down their morale, because victory is assured in the end by the grace of God”.

Stop Harassing ZLP Candidates, Nwanyanwu Warns Ajimobi

The National Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Chief Dan Nwanyanwu, on Tuesday decried what he described as unwarranted harassment of some candidates of the party in Ibadan, Oyo state capital by security agents.

The visibly enraged ZLP chairman who was in Ibadan for the mega rally, laid the blame at the doorstep of the state Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.

Nwanyanwu who led members of the party’s National Working Committee and a leader of the party, former Governor Rashidi Ladoja to the rally, said: “I am aware that our candidate here, Otunba Rotimi Ajanaku, who is contesting the Ibadan South-West/North-West federal constituency is being harassed and threatened with arrest. We know why and who is behind it.

“It is not a crime that Ajanaku left the APC for another platform to seek his aspiration. He is a Nigerian who has right to aspire without being harassed.

“Let me use this opportunity to tell Gov. Abiola Ajimobi to stop harassing Ajanaku. We will hold him responsible if anything happens to Ajanaku before, during and after this general election,” he said.

Nwanyanwu called on IGP Mohammed Adamu to live by his promise, while urging him to caution his officers, particularly the CP’s from harassing Nigerians.

“To the IGP, we were all happy on your appointment. I was among the many Nigerians who congratulated you on the appointment. This was because we believe in your capability.

“In your acceptance speech, you promised to return professionalism to the police which make us believe it is not going to be business as usual. We hope you will adhere to this.

“I implore you to ensure that Nigerians enjoy their rights to aspire and vote for candidates of their choice,” he said.

He described the ZLP as a party to beat in the state, saying the party has all it takes to rejig the economy of the state.

Nwanyanwu said that the party had carefully chosen its candidates, saying they are people of proven integrity, sincerity and unquestionable antecedents.

“Before, Oyo state used to be between 1st to 5th position in West African Senior School Certificate Examinations but now roaming around 26th position.

“Also, LAUTECH used to be one of the best universities in the country until recently when this changed. All these are consequences of a bad government in the state. Only ZLP has all it takes to address these problem,” he said.

Earlier, Mr Wole Abisoye, the State Chairman, said the party which was formed a month ago had really grown to become the hope of the electorates in the state.

He described the party as one which makes promises and fulfill them, saying that was evident in the antecedents of their leader, former Gov. Rashidi Ladoja.

“Our leader is a specialist who uses a new and perceived small party to attain victory as well as greater achievements.

“Our governorship candidate is the only one who have undergone political tutelage among his co-contestants, ” he said.

Nwanyanwu presented the party’s flag to all candidates in the state among who are Alhaji Sharafadeen Alli, the governorship candidate, Ajanaku and many others.

The National Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party, Dan Nwanyanwu, former Governors of Ondo and Oyo states, Olusegun Mimiko and Rashidi Ladoja and supporters of the party across the federation will converge on Mapo hall Ibadan for the ‘historic 2019 mega rally’ of the party ahead general elections.

A press statement signed on Monday by the Oyo state Publicity Secretary of the ZLP, Olajide Olanipekun said all arrangements have been concluded to stage the rally in the ancient Mapo ground on Tuesday, beginning from 10am.

Olanipekun, a lawyer said apart from Nwanyanwu, Mimiko and Ladoja, other leaders and party’s National Working Committee members as well as the candidates for various elective offices in 2019 are also being expected.

He said the National Chairman will use the occasion to present flags to the gubernatorial candidates of the ZLP including Oyo state’s flagbearer, Sharafadeen Alli.

Olanipekun urged the party supporters to conduct themselves peacefully to show other political parties on how to organise hitch-free rally devoid of brigandage and hooliganism.

He reechoed the mandate of the ZLP anchored on good governance, equity, Justice and development, just as he listed other party chieftains coming to the rally, to include Chief Segun Odegbami (Ogun state), Yahaya Makama, Segun Jones, ThankGod Enahoro, Hassana El-Abdullahi, Eni Akinsola and Mrs. Onyemekara Chinyere.

Traders in Ibadan North will smile to the bank soon as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ibadan North federal constituency, Prince Olaide Musiliu Akinremi, aka Jagaban, said more women and youths would be empowered if he emerges as lawmaker to the House of Representatives in February 16 election.

Explaining that his constituents would enjoy impressive representation, Akinremi, while addressing his supporters across the federal constituency, assured that nothing would stop him when elected.

Akinremi, who added that he has been assisting people through the little has inspired him to be doing though his Prince Akinremi Foundation (PAF), reiterated that he would establish the free vocational/skills acquisition centre, which is presently operating within the premises of PAF, in some other locations so as to make the facility easily accessible to the teeming youths in various residence.

This is just as he noted that through his representation of the constituency at the National Assembly, beneficiaries of other activities of his Foundation, in the areas of payment and disbursement of scholarships and bursaries to students of secondary schools and tertiary institutions, as well as soft credit facilities without repayment to market women and artisans, will be increased considerably, besides his positive contributions to national issues.

While urging people across the state to vote massively for APC come in the February 16th and March 2nd, 2019 general elections, Akinremi described the APC as the only party in the country whose leadership is led by men and women of integrity who are consistent achievers in the areas of the welfare and emancipation of humanity, adding that many of these leaders had addressed the people on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at the Mapo Hall, venue of the party’s Southwest campaign flag off.

Akinremi explained that the large heart and master planning potentials of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is the national leader of the party, is obvious to all including political rivals, and that the consistency in the defense of the rights of citizens by Comrade Adams Oshiomole, the party’s National Chairman, right from his leadership of the national body of Labour, 8 years as Edo state Governor and presently within the ruling APC, is known to all and sundry.

He further stated that “it is obvious that the outgoing Governor of the state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, who is the party’s candidate for Oyo South Senatorial district, has over the last 7 years laid the foundation of a modern Oyo state, and that Oloye Adebayo Adelabu, the party’s governorship candidate is the best man that can take the state to the next level of improvement in the security of lives and property, education, sound health services, agriculture, solid road development and other infrastructures.”

Akinremi thereafter described critics of the Governor Ajimobi-led APC administration as few prejudiced and retrogressive set of people in the state, who he said are lovers of the kind of political doldrums the previous PDP administration plunged the state into, where all forms of insensitivities-mismanagement and squandering of resources and violence were the order of the day, to the extent that the state House of Assembly became an amusement park for hoodlums.

He, however, said that he was sure that the progressive-minded people of the state are ready to safeguard their future with their votes in support of the APC in the state through in the forthcoming general elections, “for the next level of adequate security in the state, through the Security Trust Fund (STF), renovation of public secondary schools, through Schools Governing Board (SGB), agriculture revolution through Oyo Agric, sound health services through the Health Endowment Scheme, creation of jobs and subsidized transportation for the ‘mekunus,’ through the Ajumose Shuttle, the state-owned transport system, world-class road developments and other infrastructures.”

Alaafin Endorses ZLP Candidate, Sharafadeen Alli

This poser follows a trending video clip which revealed the open endorsement of the candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in Oyo state, Chief Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli by the Alaafin, three days ago.
Alaafin who spoke in parables was seen in the video clip when he hosted Alli in his palace, giving reasons why ZLP candidate could be trusted, even when the chips are down.
The permanent Chairman, Oyo state council of Obas and Chiefs, told his visitor: “Sharafa, you know what binds us. You and I know it.”
Turning his face towards the direction of Oyomesis (the kingmakers), Alaafin said, “Oyomesi, I will explain to you. He knows what binds us together. One can be in government and not responsible. He may be lacking in Omoluabi. But Sharafa is a reliable son with quality and all traits of Omoluabi behaviour in his blood.
“Sharafa is many things to me. He loves Alaafin so dearly and exhibited it on many occasions in the past. I have no doubt recommending him to you, the Oyomesis,” Alaafin said in Yoruba language.
Alaafin who narrated a particular incidence of the past and the mediatory roles Alli played, said “I didn’t forget those moments in my life and he might have forgotten what he did, but it was a defining moment for me.
“From that day, Sharafa had received the blessings of the ancestors and it is just starting afresh today because what he is looking for, God will grant him.
“He understands what I am saying, the same way I do. He is a wonderful guy imbued with wisdom,” the monarch added.
Alaafin who offered prayer from Ifa copus for Sharafadeen Alli’s ambition, said “you will excel and succeed in this great task.
Alaafin said he had no regrets with the prayers he offered to Alli from the bottom of his heart, stressing that his past and more importantly, Alli’s love for him when it mattered, made him to do so.
Recalling the gun attack on Alli by suspected and yet-to-be apprehended assailants at the palace of Olubadan in 2018, Alaafin said it was a mystery that the ZLP gubernatorial Candidate escaped death, though by the whiskers.
He queried comments in certain quarters that Alli planned the gun attack, saying only a mad man would cause another person to shoot him, to make political score.
Alaafin told the ZLP entourage to be cautious and engage in issues based campaign and dwell more on what they want to do differently to make life more abundant for the people of the state.
Earlier, Alli had said he was in the palace to pay homage and avail the monarch of his programmes for the people of the state if given the chance as the next Governor of the state.

My Plans for Amuwo-Odofin Constituency, by Alli-Macaulay

The House of Assembly candidate for Amuwo-Odofin constituency 1 under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos state, Hon. Mojisola Alli-Macaulay has unveiled her agenda for the people of the area if elected on March 2.
Alli-Macaulay, a journalist and former deputy leader of Amuwo-Odofin legislative council who represented Ward B1 in the council area, said women are natural multipliers and good at lobbying.
She therefore solicited the votes of the constituents to enable her deliver on a number of legislative agenda she has in stock for her people.
According to Alli-Macaulay, that there is nothing comparable to being an experienced legislator at the grassroot. Only an experienced grassroot legislator would know where the shoe pinches at the grassroot. I have been part of the business of making by-laws, for the local government, at least for a number of years. So, I was part of the enactment of all the bylaws which means I know most of the problems that affect the local government at that time, which is still pertinent up until this time.
“I am going to focus on the youths of my constituency. I see them as the most vulnerable elements of the society. The women, the children and the elderly, and as you know, that the business of legislation is making law but I will also go extra miles to consolidate on what’s on ground, in terms of lobbying dividends of democracy to the people of Amuwo-Odofin from top government establishments, and try to see how we can make the best of all these opportunities, to enrich and better the lives of our people, Alli-Macaulay said.
Speaking further, Alli-Macaulay said, “I will say that this is a very calculated opportunity that I would not take for granted. I will try my possible best to ensure that I give my all to my constituency. I will try as much as possible to lobby. Women are very good at lobbying. We try to make things happen. We are natural multipliers.
“Women will nurture anything you put into their care with absolute dedication, and you can trust me, that the best is what I will give. I would ensure that whatever gains that the local government or my constituency is enjoying at the moment, I will consolidate on it, I will improve on it, and I will see ways by which we can bring in goodies to all and sundries.
“All the people in my constituency will benefit from my stewardship in the Lagos Assembly and I make bold to say that no voter will regret casting their vote for me. I won’t discriminate against anyone no matter your religion, tribes or gender colouration. I wish to be the best lawmaker ever produced by Amuwo Odofin constituency 1,” the former councillor stressed.
